"Petru Poni" Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (ROMANIA)
The general objective of the centre is to increase the R&D quality and efficiency of the “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Iaşi, by modernizing the R&D infrastructure through the access of the scientists to top level research equipment. This general objective is attained by:

- The development of the research capacity of the Institute by updating the R&D infrastructure, to attain the scientific competitiveness at international standards.
- The improvement of R&D management.
- The improvement of the research and education environment by creating the most appropriate research and education conditions for young researchers.
- The creation and functioning of the Centre of Advanced Research for Bionanoconjugates and Biopolymers is expected to ensure the progress of the regional and national research, able to corresponds to the European and international standards and to contribute to the development of important research areas as biotechnology and nanotechnology. As for the “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, IntelCentre will contribute:
- to the training and specialization of young graduates
- to the increase of Institute scientific and economic competiveness at national and European
- to the full integration of Petru Poni Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry in the European Research
- to the development and consolidation of new partnerships with national and European research entities.

The priority thematic areas of IntelCentre are focused in: (i) scientific area of biomimetics, through fundamental and applicative knowledge diseminable by high rated scientific publications, (ii) educational area, by the consolidation of a group of young scientists, guided by senior researchers and teachers, (iii) strategic research area, by approaching several fields of top applicative interest for future biomedical solutions, (iv) international cooperation, by co-optation and involvement of two highly rated Romanian researchers working abroad, (v) social domain, by sustaining the development of efficient tools for gene-mediated cure of individuals injuries and illnesses, (vi) economic domain, by providing know-how blueprints to sustain technological transfer to companies acting in advanced fields, able to exploit biologic-oriented knowledge.
