Abstract:
Many physical systems can be modeled by the same experiments and random variables. The distribution of the random variables involved in each of these systems can be analyzed and the results can be used in different applications and examples, that the development of the topics that correspond to distributions of probability statistics courses are very important, but the topics that present greater difficulty of understanding in statistics courses at the FESC UNAM are precisely relating to the study of probability, which has made it necessary to develop strategies to improve the teaching-learning process with the use of technology. In this part, it has developed an e-learning course to complement and reinforce the knowledge acquired in the classroom, which is to achieve greater student motivation and better school performance.
The e-learning courses are educational platforms or virtual environments that support teaching and learning at university. In this case, we can say that their use has transformed much of traditional teaching spaces in virtual teaching and learning spaces. The e-learning course developed corresponds to the subject of discrete probability distributions: binomial and poisson.

The E-learning course was developed in order to:
(a) contribute to the content of study, skills and competencies that student should acquire
(b) integrate the using of statistical software applications to real problems and contexts of the topics
(c) providing interactive materials that facilitate the understanding
(d) provide a mechanism for continuous assessment to serve as a guide for the course and
(e) to promote collaborative learning on-line by assigning projects and activities to be done in working groups.

The e-learning course has the following structure:
1) theoretical development of the themes, discrete probability distributions as binomial and poisson
2) solved exercises,
3) proposed exercises
4) exercises solved with internet
5) videos of each item
6) applets and interactive exercises
7) review and assessment questions immediately
8) In addition, it contains forum, chat and voice tasks.

The e-learning course will be implemented in the classes. However, we already held test pilot in a sample of students and teachers with a good acceptance.

Finally, integrating available resources relating to the themes in an e-learning course, it gets that both students and teachers have access to modern teaching method, where the emphasis should be on concepts, applications and interpretations, using appropriate software for the results.
