Abstract:
The project aims to raise awareness about personal responsibility and self-control to solve the problems of cities and also develop eco-efficient proposals to improve the urban environment. The proposals include ideas related to the revitalization of the city from a perspective of urban, social and economic sustainability.

There is a tendency in society to think that noise problems can be solved exclusively through greater isolation (social and acoustic), which generates an aggressive city model. Unlike this aggressive model, noise issues can be addressed through a collaborative approach and with personal responsibility. An example is the Saconia neighborhood in Madrid (or the city of poets). Brick blocks, with their characteristic flush windows, saw-shaped profiles and walkways, present noise problems today.

This project aims to reverse this situation and incorporate people as a fundamental part of the building use process. This approach complements and develops the technical training that students receive, taking them out of their comfort zone to reinforce their learning, complementing theoretical aspects with eminently practical issues. The methodology is based on the analysis of the homes and their facades in question. The data will be collected through methodological sheets, surveys of home users, photographs, acoustic measurements, etc.

Furthermore, it has been proven in this study that an adequate design of the active systems of buildings contributes significantly to savings in the consumption of natural resources. For this reason, it is important to raise awareness among users about a series of good practices to follow to save on water and energy consumption in homes.

Our cities behave like sinks, where the resources that enter come out as polluting waste and the natural cycle is interrupted. However, due to the concentration of activities and population they imply, they represent a key system in which to promote efficiency criteria in the use of resources, the reuse of products and their recycling, promoting the circularity of the economic chain. and those things. We will work from the lack of knowledge that exists in the different energy habits, in this way small improvements and actions will be carried out in the active day-to-day use of the existing facilities in each of the homes visited. Committing to a circular economy in our cities would mean having an urban model that respects the natural cycle of resources, would promote urban regeneration, avoiding the destruction of natural soils, and would favor sovereignty in all areas and a collaborative economy. To boost this momentum, in recent times there have been regulatory advances that will be analyzed for better understanding and dissemination.

Therefore, the project results in raising awareness about responsibility, personal initiative and self-control to solve the problems of cities and, at the same time, provide eco-efficient solutions to improve the urban environment. On the other hand, it is also proven that the training in values and learning of the university students who will participate in the project is promoted. As a result of the analyses, surveys, data collection, etc., carried out by the students, a guide of recommendations has been published as a conclusion in which good practices are collected so that it can be used by any interested person and help users to have a better knowledge of the problems and possible eco-efficient solutions.
