Abstract:
Today everyone is talking about digitization. We strive for digitalization in business, in medicine, in manufacturing, in training, in every area of our lives. With the development of technology, consumers’ needs and expectation have changed. The new generation called Generation Alpha (or Gen Alpha) is the demographic cohort succeeding Generation Z. Early childhood education approaches are mainly to digitize educational materials and deliver them to children through technology. This, however, is not the case with a university education, and especially in the field of computer science. Training in programming, models and data analysis, big data, forecasting, etc. is done through computers. Content is born in digital format. The point then is how the digitalization can happen in the university education where Generation Z is studying currently?

At the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies in Bulgaria, we are working on a project that addresses the problem of digitizing educational content for students in computer science. The situation was analyzed on a global, European and local scale. The work on the project is directed on several channels. This article looks at the potential for digital transformation of the learning process across disciplines such as programming, data analysis, big data, and more. The goal is to build a model of work to come up with a new way of accessing learning content, using technologies such as machine learning, voice recognition and artificial intelligence. The proposed model will serve to improve the academic subjects at the university in order to increase the students' acquired knowledge and practical skills.
