Abstract:
Our study describes the aims, concept, methodology and execution of literature promotion activities at the Institute of the Hungarian Linguistics and Literary Science in Nitra. The Institute is specific because students with teacher education programme orientation complete various class assignments from their first semester, which are to be performed within the framework of non-formal education. These class assignments have two main objectives: to improve the transfer of theoretical knowledge on literature through various educational lectures, workshops and meetings and to expertly impart scientific knowledge, i.e. to ensure thorough pedagogical preparedness in relation to methodology by ensuring experience workshops, methodological projects and sessions focusing on nurturing talent. A primary objective of the activities to promote literature implemented as part of the concept of class assignments is therefore to disseminate knowledge on literature, innovations in relation to methodology in the study of literature, and contemporary literary works as widely as possible. To this effect, the Institute organises several specific literary and cultural events for training purposes and to provide students with a model for conducting professional events and to prepare future teachers to shape the attitudes of their future pupils and lay the foundations for a positive attitude towards literature and culture.
