Abstract:
Introduction:
21st century is the century of transformations, a time of rapid ups and downs, of a technological, scientific and economic boom, a time of many realities. A time of extremes - in the era of the digital revolution, the digital divide (originally the term meant the difference between the availability of technology in developed and developing countries) is still a reality that takes on new dimensions.
The issue of the technological gap and the provision of Internet access for all people, regardless of their characteristics and social status, is widely discussed in the international community. Over time, it has become clear that the problem is much broader and information inequality may exist at different levels. It can be overcome by providing technology, infrastructure and enhancing the digital literacy of the population.
Presentation:
Modern technologies offer opportunities that expand the range of their application and become an integral part of everyday life. However, they are often not adapted for everyone to the highest degree. People with special needs are often limited in the use of modern technologies due to the lack of parameters set in their original concept. It is necessary to work hard at all levels in order to increase the accessibility to information and communication technologies (ICT) for people with special needs, too.
The problems of accessibility of people with special needs should be among the main priorities of modern education. There are more and more studies that clearly highlight the opportunities that mixed reality provides for: socialization, integration, training, experiences, etc., for people with special needs (physical disabilities, sensory impairments, moderate/ severe cognitive impairments, autism, learning disabilities, behavioral disorders). It is a technology that expands perceived reality at the expense of complementing the visible and tangible world with real-time digital information. It also enriches the forms of access to information related to the specifics of cultural and historical heritage(CHH) education. In recent years, more and more researchers have begun to design academic virtual learning environments that enable students with special needs to participate fully.
Aim of the report:
This report aims to present the opportunities for access and training of people with special needs in the field of CHH, through the use of mixed reality (MR). MR technologies are exciting tools that include a safe and supportive environment for knowledge transfer between the virtual and real world. Through such technology, people with special needs can learn about their own capabilities and reach their potential for learning in an accessible, safe and supportive environment. Keywords:
