Abstract:
Cooperation among universities and enterprises is useful for subjects at both sides. Even though, barriers or inefficiencies appear in their mutual cooperation. Under the Czech conditions connection between university and enterprise exists, but tangible results are missing or are not beneficial. The main problem is not to start cooperation, but to complete the cooperation with concrete outputs. Author of the paper wants to point out the problems resulting from cooperation among universities and enterprises in the Czech environment and to answer following questions: Is there any gap between enterprise and academic environment? What is the reason of disparity in the functioning of both worlds? What barriers hinder cooperation and how to overcome them?
Despite the existing weaknesses in cooperation among universities and companies there are emerging examples of "best practice" of successfully implemented cooperation with specific outputs e.g. in applied research, in the field of innovation vouchers or in creating favorable conditions for business through scientific research parks etc.
Aim of the paper is to analyze information about cooperation among universities and enterprises in the Czech environment and finally to determine barriers of mutual cooperation and ways how to overcome them. The main methodology involves “success stories” and “unsuccess stories” and will be applied for documentation of concrete cooperation between university students and freezing plant in their joint project. Keywords:
Cooperation, success stories, unsuccess stories, barriers, concrete outputs.
