Abstract:
The contribution of the work was to expose the participation of the authors in the training for novice professors performed by the Teaching Support Department of the University Jaume I. This program is proposed to professors with less than three years of teaching experience, and they are tutored and advised by two more-experienced professors. The participation is free and voluntary. The program takes two academic years. The first year, the novice professor must attend general courses and specific courses. In the second year, the student must self-evaluate its teaching indicating his weak and strong points, and propose the way to improve his teaching. Finally, the participant provides a “teaching folder”, summarizing its teaching activity. The participant is supervised by his two tutors and by the responsible of Teaching Education Support. The participation of this program allows the growth of the teaching abilities of the novice professors.
