Abstract:
The acquisition of specific vocabulary around gastronomy is a fascinating process that not only enriches our vocabulary, but also immerses us in the culture and culinary diversity of different regions of the world.

In this sense, it was proposed to our students enrolled in English for the Restaurant Industry II, and Spanish for the Restaurant Industry II language courses, attending the degree in Restaurant and Catering Management at School of Tourism and Maritime Technology of the Polytechnic of Leiria, Portugal, during the first year of second semester of 2022/2023 academic year, the creation of an illustrative trilingual glossary with audio. For this purpose, and since we use the Moodle platform in higher education, we took advantage of the Moodle "glossary" tool to bring it to life, so that it can be shared through Genially and Padlet and made available to all students and users.

This multilingual group activity, at an initial level, carried out outside the classroom, was proposed with the aim of increasing the lexical flow in the area of gastronomy and catering, as well as reinforcing and developing the pronunciation of the lexis learnt and identifying the images with the specific term, as well as developing creativity and using and getting to know other digital tools.

With this activity we observed that the students acquired new technical terms in a more playful and entertaining way, they felt more motivated and at the same time it was possible for them to train and improve pronunciation, an important factor in oral expression and even to make the image correspond to the term, to discover new digital tools and to develop creativity and collaborative work.

We can conclude that the students were consciously involved and dedicated themselves to the increase and quality of their vocabulary on an individual and group level, the exploitation and search and awareness of the meaning of words.
