Abstract:
Assessment and Accreditation of Institutions of tertiary level have become key elements for the improvement of job performance of these entities, especially in everything related to the quality and relevance It was proved that the criteria listed in the Evaluation Guide of university courses in Cuba are very general and are not adjusted to the characteristics and peculiarities of the educational training process of engineers in the University of Informatics Sciences. This research aims at presenting the variables and indicators to measure the quality in the educational training process of engineers in the University of Informatics Sciences. In this proposal the general requirements for the accreditation of Careers in Higher Education in Cuba and the specific requirements for the assessment of the Degree in Computer Sciences Engineering are integrated. This result was put into practice through the development of tools used in the process of self-evaluation carried out by Faculty 6 of the University of Informatics Sciences, with a view to external assessment for the accreditation of this faculty. It brought about as outcome the identification of the specific problems affecting the formation of students and the alternative solutions to promote the development of continuous improvement processes that contribute to the determination of a system of quality management. This proposal becomes a partial result of the project: (CALINFOR).
