Abstract:
The lectures on Acoustics and vibrations in the Master of Mechanics of Machines and Transport Engineering have been designed for the developement of experimental capabilities of the students. In the framework of the European Higher Education Area, they are asked to design, develop and build their own experimental demonstrations. Experimental skills and a high level of knowledge are achieved by most of students. Motivation has been considerably increased and the work has demonstrated to promote collaboration, creative discussion and analysis. Students also have demonstrated a better understanding of the topics and a proactive actitude to solve practical implementation. Even more, this approach eases the aplication of the topics to professional tasks by students, improving the quality of the engineers studying the master.
This kind of lectures need only reduced facilities and take advantage of the creativity and collaborative capabilities and it also has demonstrated to be highly satisfactory for the teachers. This learning model is analysed and evaluated, including the satisfation of the students and the evaluation of the learned knowledge after one year of professional experience. Keywords:
