Abstract:
The theoretical framework underpinning this research is the focus of Martha Nussbaum's capabilities. The North American philosopher proposes a list of ten skills that human beings need to develop throughout their lives, because by fulfilling this objective they will achieve personal well-being and happiness and, consequently, it will be possible to create more democratic, supportive and just societies. The leaders of all the countries of the world must ensure that they put at the service of their citizens the possibility of developing these ten skills, and the way to achieve this is through education. Education systems must cease to be mere transmitters of academic knowledge and must become the means by which students receive comprehensive education. In this new way of understanding education, and included in Martha Nussbaum's list of capabilities, emotions appear, which play a primordial role. Knowing how to perceive, understand and regulate what one feels turns a person into someone who will know how to grasp and understand the feelings of others, which will lead to building healthy and healthy social climates, where differences will be seen within a total normality. Emotional education, therefore, has to become a key part of the educational gear. This vision was held by the Professor Pérez-Barea at University Loyola Andalucía (Córdoba, Spain), when he decided to add a module in Emotional and Social Skills to its Market Research students in Bilingüal Communication Degree. The aim of this project is to empirically validate this subject and thus demonstrate that it has managed to improve the emotional intelligence of the students who have participated in this innovative project. In doing so, this analysis corroborates the need to emotionally educate students in their universities years. Keywords:
