Abstract:
The crisis experienced last year about SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) has produced a strong advance in education online. On the other hand, the limitations of this kind of teaching method have been exposed. One of these limitations, it has been the impossibility of teaching practical laboratory classes. With the aim of minimizing these deficiencies, the use of new study methods as the use of videos could be interesting. Within the use of videos appears the opportunity to use HTML5 content and applications, and specifically interactive videos. During the first course of the Chemistry subject taught at the Defense University Center of Marin, the use of this kind of multimedia content was experimented. This paper shows its implementation. Specifically, the distillation practice with copper sulphate solution (azeotropic), and the distillation of oil-acetone mixture (non azeotropic) were recorded by the teacher in the laboratory. After, it was converted in html5 content as an interactive video. Moreover, the evaluation methodology is included with the insertion of several knowledge quiz questions during the video viewing. Keywords:
