Abstract:
This text is a master's research clipping entitled: "The Interactive Digital Slate: A Case Study at the Federal Institute of São Paulo", which had as object of study the interactive digital slate. The general objective of this study was to analyze the use of the Digital Slate from the perspective of students and a high school teacher. As specific objectives, the following were listed: verify how the teacher and the students used the Digital Slate, analyze how the Digital Slate contributed or not to an interactive lesson. With this investigation, we tried to answer the following question: Do the Digital Slates favor interactivity between the students and the teacher of the High School? The research universe was the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of the city of São Paulo - Brazil. The subjects were 10 students and the teacher of the discipline of Literature of Portuguese Expression of the course of intermediate level integrated to the technician in Mechanics. It was a qualitative research of the case study type. Data collection procedures were semi-structured interviews, focus group, observation and document analysis. The work was endorsed by the following authors: Pinto (2005), Lèvy (1993, 1996), Kenski (2003, 2011), Freire (1981, 1989, 1996, 2003), Silva (2006). It is concluded with this investigation that the Digital Slates make the classes more interactive, favoring the process of teaching and learning. In addition, it promotes greater interaction between the subjects, enabling reflective thinking, critical awareness of reality and understanding of responsibilities. They contribute to the understanding of contents and, when associated with pedagogical objectives and practices, are facilitating elements for the teacher and students. The students emphasize that the use of this technology as a tool will make sense, as long as there is previous planning of the teacher and that he knows how to use all the resources offered by Digital Slate. The Professor states that technology is an important instrument, but it does not replace the human relationship between teacher and student.
