In this presentation, you will learn how to engage your students in math class via technology including various Web 2.0 tools & social media. Enhance class discussions with Twitter; increase learning time via screencasts & voice threads; & engage students with collaborative tools like Poll Everywhere. Come learn how to USE technology in your class!

Objectives:
You will learn about four specific open-source technologies: Twitter, Voicethread, Screencast-o-matic, and Poll Everywhere. For each, you will hear about how they can be used in your class to engage your students, extend teaching & learning time, and enhance student discussions and collaboration. In addition, you will get the chance to brainstorm with fellow educators to apply your new knowledge to your individual situation and enhance your professional development.

Math:
Specific math content will include algebra topics like graphing and patterns, geometry topics like theorems and proofs, and history of math connections. The focus will be how to effectively incorporate technology into the lesson in order to enhance the mathematical understanding, make connections, and extend the teaching & learning time.
