Abstract:
The main objective of the present project was to provide students of Advanced Vocational Education and Training, Certificate of Higher Education and Engineering Degrees with a tool to develop real measures of vibration for industrial predictive maintenance through their own smartphones.

To achieve this aim, a mobile application for devices with Android operating system has been developed being able to capture the values of mechanical vibrations by its 3-axes accelerometer and storing those values in a file with extension .txt. To analyse the results, the data obtained could be processed by using a computer application also developed for it. Matlab was used to developed this application and an intuitive interface was created to obtain the frequency spectrum of the signal measured as well as an editing tool to look for main frequencies and its harmonics. Some previous experiences were developed in the technological institute IES ANTONIO JOSÉ CAVANILLES of Alicante, Spain, with successful results.
