Abstract:
After the Covid-19 pandemic, E-Learning education has become an essential worldwide component in the education system. Several educational institutions have developed Online Laboratory Management Systems (OMLS) to allow students to interact with professional engineering equipment and real-life experiences via the Internet. The online remote laboratory experiments in the OMLS produce considerable data stored, processed, analyzed, and accessed using centralized systems. These systems suffer from deficiencies in transparency, traceability, security features, trustworthiness, and reliability and, by nature, are exposed to the vulnerability of a single point of failure. One possibility to address these challenges is implementing blockchain technology as a secure framework for OMLS. In this decentralized system, only authorized peers can join or access the network, ensuring the privacy of personal data and file records. The main goal of this paper is to analyze and discuss the most important aspects of blockchain technology and its impact on traditional E-Learning systems, specifically Online Laboratory Management Systems (OLMS).
