Abstract:
Latin America needs to improve health systems to improve the quality of life for its citizens. The most innovative applications in the field of medicine occur in highly developed countries or large multinationals with extensive resources. However this should not be a constraint to developing innovative high impact on society, creating joint innovation and promoting sustainable development.

So harnessing the potential of generating knowledge and innovation of universities (as the Autonomous University of Queretaro) in areas such as management, computing, engineering and medicine together with experience in the medical sector of local companies medical equipment manufacturers (Company Mexican Radiology) and the support of government (Federal Government of Mexico through the National Council of Science and Technology) was built a favorable environment for innovation in which stakeholders and synergy generated by joining technology for sustainable development, result of this environment is primarily a technological innovator in the area-WEB PACs (Picture Archiving and Communication system based WEB) is a 100% web-based platform that enables the diagnosis, handling, management and image management high-quality medical compatible with global standards such as DICOM industry, in Spanish, faster, right at the base of technology installed in hospitals in developing countries and globally competitive by being at par your area using technology developed by companies like GE, AGFA, Siemmens and other world class.

The result we developed a model linking R & D and Innovation, successful testing and validation generated fed back to society through the support of doctors in the hospital sector public resources are managed together and brought to the society in which already successfully installed in 3 hospitals in the larger public sector in Mexico and plans to other hospitals in Latin America. Added to this, the development of these medical projects can generate jobs, raise the competitiveness of Latin American countries in technological developments and in areas related to medicine. All this was achieved through the creation of multidisciplinary teams consisting of university students of different levels: undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees in conjunction with university researchers, engineers from private companies, public sector doctors and support government to conduct a development impact for society at all levels. The case of success continues, the laboratory-observatory office is now back in the medical innovation through the development (currently 60%) of a diagnostic application of breast cancer (the leading cause of cancer death in women) by technological tools that are expected to be completed this year. In addition the company receiving the technology could get the national award for science and technology 2010 by developments that are currently possible to improve the level and quality of life of thousands.
