Abstract:

The article discusses the application of interactive whiteboards (IWB) as an instructional tool in educational settings. Interactive learning methods have been widely discussed in recent years. Interactive methods have been known in education for a long time but are now highly promoted as a modern model for building educational dialogue. Interactive learning aims to create a more vibrant relationship between teachers and learners, to increase the activity during the learning process, and to provoke teacher-student collaboration. The article presents the opinion of the educators about the usage of IWB - why they use IWB or they would start using it more actively in their teaching. The opinions presented are questionnaire responses from a specially designed e-questionnaire about IWB. IWB-users opinions about the applicability of IWB are little known and the full potential of this powerful tool is still not satisfactorily utilized. To be able to use IWB actively and at the same time with high productiveness, teachers have an interest in getting to know well-tailored, working e-Learning lessons, as well as concrete models of IWB lessons. It is yet a big challenge for an IWB lesson developed on one IWB to be quickly and easily adapted and successfully presented with IWBs running different software. There is lack of such examples and existing solutions, namely one IWB lesson to be able to run on the different IWBs.

Article concern an issue of the present day and the near super high-tech future, namely real and effective integration of IWB in all stages and in most of the forms of education.
