Abstract:
Virtual platforms are a means by which teachers structure, organize, manage and present the contents that students have to work in the classroom or in the computer lab. Virtual platforms are considered as a complement, and in more extreme cases as a substitute for the traditional textbook. The creation and evolution of the didactic contents uploaded on the virtual platform promote the acquisition of skills in the handling of innovative didactic means, introducing us into the virtual and integral learning of Information and Communication Technologies (henceforth ICT) in the academic curriculum.
This paper asserts the enormous benefit of using Virtual Educational Platforms (hereinafter ENP) to acquire or reinforce previous or new knowledge, directly impacting on student performance. However, in spite of having identified multiple and varied benefits in the use of these tools, the same ones that are described and argued in the present work of educational research, it is evident that currently in Ecuador the use of technological options in the educational area in the levels of Basic Education is almost null.
The main objective of this research work is to demonstrate that the use of ENP can reduce the educational gap through the use of technology and can encourage children to use technology correctly, resulting in an improvement in the teaching-learning process guided from the classroom and consequently strengthened from home.
Similarly, the materials and methods for carrying out this study consist, in a first phase, of carrying out qualitative research, in which periodic meetings were held with teachers in the area in order to determine content and tools to be used to upload to the virtual platform. Likewise, a variety of field work has been carried out such as surveys, interviews, classroom observations and studies of the environment to demonstrate the actions and actions of students in the use of them. The result obtained after the research and processing of the data collected is that the use of new technological resources by students reinforces the teaching-learning process, which allows students to obtain more knowledge and better skills and abilities when using a technological resource, while promoting the discovery of new skills from early ages of students. Keywords:
