Abstract:
Nowadays, with the massification of Internet and its tools Web X.0, the teaching methodologies has to adapt to new realities. Current students (digital natives / digital generation as well characterized by Mark Prenski) belonging to the new information society dominated by digital technologies need to be constantly connected to the world's largest network of information within and outside the context of learning. This forces teachers create new methodologies more attractives and exciting so that students feel motivated and willing to learn.
With this article we intend to put into practice a model validation Web X.0 tools in teaching and learning, analyzed, designed and developed by the authors in previous investigations with articles like "Web X.0 Tools in Education" "The current use of the tools in teaching Web X.0", "Measurement of cognitive tools web X.0", "Structural Sustainability Parameter Validation Tools Web X.0 in teaching and Learning", "Validation parameters web tools X.0 in teaching and learning" and "Web X.0 Model Validation Tools in Teaching and Learning", all presented and published in high quality scientific journals, so as conferences all over the world.
The implementation and evaluation of the model was based on the study of two distinct cases: In the first study, target population consisted of 22 graduates of a mode of education and training for active life, named computer architecture, with the duration of 50 hours. The second case study was attended by 20 trainees from a mode of education and training for active life, which is the benchmark training of technical / commercial level 4. Our unit was Business English for foreigners, during 50 hours. The purpose of the two case studies was to use a different methodology, never before used by trainers with Web X.0 tools previously assessed by the model transmitting the contents of the reference training.
The methodological approach of this research is characterized by an explanatory purpose, with data collection procedures performed through two questionnaires. An initial questionnaire assessing knowledge and another to review of satisfaction. Analysis of the two questionnaires concluded that students found the experience positive and have learned the contents in a more enjoyable way. Regarding the purpose of the study, it was found that the transmission of content implied a greater effort of the trainers, as they had to restructure sessions depending on the tools used Web X.0. However, every effort was rewarded as the learning outcomes were great. Showed a higher commitment and motivation among learners, achieving better results. The choice of tools occurred through the appropriate model, reflected in the end the satisfaction of trainees and their positive results. This study proved to be a contribution in using the model choosing web X.0 tool for transmitting syllabus traditionally complicated modules to assimilate and understand, to have been the case with hardware and Business English.
As future implications for learning, we suggest the use of the model in other activities such as modular way to consolidate the study and allow the teacher to assess the degree of functionality of web tools X.0. Since often these same tools are used by students outside the classroom context, enabling the use of the same in learning more efficient and enjoyable way for students. Keywords:
