Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to determine in which way academic achievement is influenced by mood, sexual satisfaction and gender.
We take the definition Gonzalez (2002): “Academic achievement is the knowledge level that an individual possesses through school, recognized by the educational system, and which is expressed by the grade assigned by the professor”, moreover, adds to the definition, “the average of grades obtained by the student in the subjects in which exams have been presented by the individual”.

In order to understand sexual satisfaction concept, we appeal to Carrobles and Sanz (1991) who consider sexual satisfaction as being evaluated according to well-being and plenitude levels, or absence of these, experimented by an individual in relation to its sexual activity. The absence of sexual activity may originate problems that can be presented as complaints referred to sexual desire level and the frequency of the sexual relations frequency, especially when referred to frequency and appetence of a significant other. In addition, sexual satisfaction problems can be related with variety of sexual activities performed with the significant other, which may be perceived as humdrum and monotonous.

The previous information can be related also to the individual’s mood state through Levin’s (2007) approach, where psychological and subjective wellbeing could be connected with sexual health and performance. Levin referred to a diverse of researches that have informed about the existence of a connection between sexual performance deterioration and the presence of depressive symptoms, anxiety and psychological discomfort in general (Arrington et al., 2004; Frohlich and Meston, 2002). There are plenty of studies that evidence a correlation between mood state and sexual satisfaction.

Objectives:
1. Academic achievement, both gender, will be higher the better the individual’s mood is.
2. Academic achievement, both gender, will be higher, the better the sexual satisfaction is.
3. Academic achievement variation will depend on the interaction of mood and sexual satisfaction.

Data Analysis at Jaume I University are asked to participate on this research. During the informative session, those who willingly accepted to participate, were given the link to a questionnaire that had been using Google Docs: variables such as gender, age, previous week average mood state valued from 0 (minimum) to 10 (maximum), or sexual satisfaction graded likewise. Regarding the subject grades evaluation, we consider June’s test as data. Qualifications were from 0 to 10 indicating student’s subject knowledge reached during the course.

The sample was composed by 68 psychology students from Jaume I University . All of them participated voluntarily.

In order to answer objectives, a variable interaction regression analysis was performed using the SSPS 22.0.

Results show that the variables mood state and sexual satisfaction explain part of the academic achievement variable, and that between each of the variables gender-based differences were noticeable.
