Abstract:
In this paper, the analysis of women involvement into scientific area of Tomsk Polytechnic University is presented. It was found out that old-fashioned stereotypes about attitude towards women-researches is still remained. The results of research are based on statistical data and faculty staff questionnaire on the example of Power Engineering Institute. One of these survey results demonstrate that a woman have not enough free time, for this reason it is necessary to make a choice between scientific career and family. The other one shows that women publication activity is five times bigger than men publication activity for the last five years.

First of all the relevance of the present issue in modern science is paroral, especially in the field of university employees. It must be noted that a woman would willingly combine several types of activity, but it happens at the age of 40-45 years old. Secondly, the analysis results show that the number of women involved in scientific life at Power Engineering Institute is lower than in Tomsk Polytechnic University in general.

In conclusion, it should be said, that an important part in self-realization of women personal potential in technical university is psychological climate at each department.
