Abstract:
Facilitator’s knowledge on learning styles of learners is helpful in enhancing effectiveness of teaching-learning process. The present study was conducted to determine whether there exists any variation in learning styles of the learners based on their personality and life experiences between fresh engineering graduates and experienced IT professionals. The purpose was to facilitate corporate educators to understand individual personality types of corporate professionals and its effect on the acceptance of a curriculum.
Qualitative research method was used to collect data. Survey data based on Kolb’s Learning Style Inventory 3.1 (KLSI) instrument was used to recognize the learner’s preferences among varied experienced professionals. The research findings indicated varied “main style” together with a strong “other style” based on the learner’s professional experience. Use of different strategies by corporate educators during the design of programs and curricula to meet the needs of each participant is discussed.
