Abstract:
"AVIONIC" project (Creative digital teaching and learning for green air transport and logistics, Erasmus + KA220-HED) was established in the autumn of 2021 to promote sustainable air transport by implementing digital curriculums and innovative digitally-enabled teaching and training practises for the aviation sector. Future occupations in aviation are mirroring transformations, and the drivers of change are partly technology-based, involving equipment, services, logistics and infrastructure, but also emphasise the ecological/environmental protection dimension. The aim of the project is to provide holistic understanding of green and digital technologies in aviation and improving the use of IT tools for teaching and learning, while developing cross-disciplinary skills and the necessary competences to enhance and manage innovative sustainable systems in air transport industry. By this way, the industry will be better prepared to support the global economy, generating social benefits while ensuring a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible pathway.

The project addresses three European priorities in the national context with a highlight on the innovative and transferable results and practices, as follows:
1) Stimulating innovative teaching and learning practices by co-creating new learning outcomes for 10 study programmes based on the cooperation of academics and employers to better meet the learning needs and to reduce the skills mismatches with labour market demands.
2) Promoting inter-connected HE systems by establishing structured cooperation between HEIs and companies to co-create content for improving study programmes and to build joint learning space by using virtual and blended methods, digital tools and online platforms; new digital applications will be developed to use modern didactical methods.
3) Supporting digital and green capabilities of the HE sector by addressing two priorities of Digital Education Action Plan 2021 -2027: making use of digital technology for teaching and learning and developing digital competences and skills demanded by the digitalisation of Air transport. The project is carried out in transnational cooperation between Finland, France, Romania and Spain with leading universities, air transport companies and training institutions involved. This session presents the project framework, approach and initial findings from the project focusing on future competencies, innovative teaching/learning approaches and technological solutions for learning provision.
