Abstract:
Erasmus exchanges for students and academics have long proven their roles and gains in international cooperation and in the development of individual careers. In the field of architecture, studying, learning or teaching abroad comes with even larger benefits, as the simple fact of immersing oneself in a foreign built environment represents a source of continuous knowledge and cultural enrichment. Thus, it is no surprise that the interest of students for study and traineeship mobilities has constantly been high in the last years, with only minor fluctuations due to the uncertainties brought by the current pandemic.

The article aims to highlight the challenges the authors have faced in their activity of coordinating the Erasmus Office in their institution, in the last 4 years. It also presents the results of an inquiry among the current and former Erasmus students, meant to identify the positive and negative aspects of their mobilities, the professional and personal challenges they faced during and after their experiences abroad.
