Abstract:
Different teaching innovation attempts were introduced in the “Principles of Chemistry” subject during the last 3 academic years of the previous Degree in Optics and Optometry (3-year programme) of the University of Alicante. The obtained experience during this period had been employed in the design and implementation of the general “Chemistry” subject in the new Optics Degree (4-year programme), and following the guidelines of the new European Space of Higher Education system. In the context of the teaching innovation technology program of the University of Alicante we employed the Moodle platform for this subject. The use of Moodle as a virtual learning tool has been really helpful to structure the subject contents and to allow the students to follow it. Self-learning and auto-evaluation could be easily performed by means of the materials, tests and questionnaires. All the results of our experience will be explained in the final communication.
