Abstract:
The goal of this project is to assess the academic character of The University of Oviedo. In order to perform this evaluation, we designed a fuzzy logic model including variables that are considered to be the most important in determining the ratings or scores earned by the University.
Results obtained after conducting a market survey were used as a point of reference. The goal of the market survey was to ascertain the overall view of the students of this University. A survey asking various questions regarding their satisfaction with different aspects of the functioning of the university was conducted.
The following activities were completed for this project: the selection of variables to be considered within the system, the system development and implementation, the validation and evaluation of the results.
The model that was designed weighed those variables that were considered to be the most important for the evaluation. The fuzzy logic model was also chosen, mainly due to the high subjectivity of weighing the variables.
The software used to complete this project was the MATLAB 6.5- Fuzzy Logic Toolbox.
