Abstract:
Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) in learning environments has become a crucial study area in the evolving educational technology landscape. Enhancing interactive learning experiences in engineering education, particularly complex subjects such as circuit theory, can help students with their assignments. The growing accessibility of AI tools like ChatGPT presents a unique opportunity to revolutionize traditional teaching methodologies. Here, we propose an AI-based educational chatbot using ChatGPT Web, tailored explicitly for teaching circuit theory. This project aims to bridge the gap in existing educational tools by providing students with personalized, interactive, and adaptive learning experiences. We identify key topics in the circuit theory curriculum. The chatbot was then developed on ChatGPT Web, integrating interactive problem-solving examples. Its functionality was evaluated through practical scenarios involving DC and AC circuit problems, with the chatbot providing step-by-step explanations and problem-solving guidance. Our findings show that the chatbot can effectively address queries related to both DC and AC circuits, demonstrating high accuracy in its explanations and problem-solving capabilities involving concepts such as Ohm's Law and Kirchhoff's Laws. We found that our ChatGPT Web-based chatbot could help with learning circuit theory. These findings are crucial for educators looking to adopt innovative teaching tools and suggest a broader potential for AI in transforming engineering education. Keywords:
