Abstract:
The development of sports and sports education in our country has always been regarded as a matter of national importance. The system of sports schools faced and is faced with two main tasks - raising a healthy younger generation and preparing a reserve for sports of the highest achievements. The concept of “sports reserves” in the broad sense of the word is inextricably linked with socially determined factors, including the totality of the achievements of society in educating young people, developing mass physical culture and sports, as well as demonstrating superior sportsmanship and gaining leading positions in the international sports arena. In a narrower sense, sports reserves are athletes who have reached a certain level of skill in accordance with age and tasks, and are covered by modern organizational and methodological forms of training, which ensure further growth of sports results.

In connection with the changed approach to physical education, fundamentally new concepts and theories should be developed, where a person will be represented in the synergy of his biological, mental and social development. Focusing only on the existing provisions of the theory of physical education, revealing only the subject area of physical education (the formation of physiological conditions) and teaching physical exercises, is neither sufficient for the development of the phenomenon of physical culture itself, nor for the formation of a physical culture of a person.

The article analyzes the contemporary social and humanitarian problems of physical education. Based on the ranking, the most important ones are highlighted, which allows you to determine the priority areas of scientific research in the field of development of physical culture, primarily - health and adaptive physical education.
