Abstract:
The Corona virus pandemic has had unprecedented consequences in all areas of our lives. In addition to the crises (health, economic, cultural, and even political ones) resulting from COVID-19 and the repeated lockdowns, many problems related to recovery from the disease come to the fore.

A number of studies have shown that the period of physical recovery is extremely different, influenced by different factors. The dramatic experience of encountering the disease leaves its mark on the people who have overcome the virus. Millions are the ones who lose their loved ones in this unequal battle with the disease. Research on mental recovery is much less and it is not yet possible to estimate how long it may take.

The team under the project "Study of attitudes to the therapeutic potential of reading in atypical situations for the individual" with Contract № KP-06-H45 / 2 of 30.11.2020, funded by the National Science Fund of the Ministry of Education and Science, held a study among individuals who have overcome the virus, focusing on the use of reading as a type of therapy. According to researchers, for many people reading is used intuitively to achieve emotional and mental balance.

The purpose of the report is to trace the attitudes towards the therapeutic role of reading in the recovery period with people who have overcome COVID-19. The survey was conducted through an online survey and online interviews. According to the obtained results, several main trends related to the choice of literature, the formats of the sources, as well as the duration of the recovery process are outlined.

Bibliotherapy is becoming more and more relevant at the moment, when people are left alone with themselves and their problems. The report presents the main conclusions reached by the team and the recommendations they make to deal with the effects of the disease on the human psyche.
