Abstract:
This article presents the results of the analysis and contrast of evaluation and accreditation systems of higher education in México, such as the V Model of the Union of Latin American Universities (UDUAL), Council for the Higher Education Accreditation (COPAES), Interinstitutional Committees for the Higher Education Evaluation (CIIES) and the National Institute of Higher Education Evaluation (INEE). Researches considered as elements of analysis of the evaluating systems their underlying educational philosophy, the methodological procedure used in the evaluation, the objectives and scopes of the evaluation practice; the criteria and indicators used; as well as the use of the results and the principal differences and similarities between the mexican evaluating systems operating nowadays.

Researchers conducted a documental analysis, in order to determine the core characteristics of each system and their practical usability in higher education, as to provide a guide for universities to determine between the systems and select the one that better suites their needs according to their quality goals.
