Abstract:
Introduction: During the last two academic years the Orthodontics Department has participated in two projects of Teaching Innovation "Docentic" at the University of Valencia for the development of teaching materials for the Degree of Dentistry. Objectives: The objectives of the study were to visualize the recorded material in the first year and to correct errors recording new videos the second year. Material and method: Teachers and students visualized the videos recorded the first year together. An anonymous survey was passed among students to give their opinion on the material. Results: Videos were very well considered by the teachers and the students but changes were introduced the second time. The same videos were recorded again introducing new things. Conclusions: Multimedia educational videos are a useful and effective self-learning tool for the students. The vast majority of students were satisfied with the content, interest, quality, duration and practical application of the videos. The university projects as “Docentic” can help in the development of this kind of material.
