Abstract:
The research aims to examine the family context of students and the andragogic strategies used in class by teachers with the objective of potentiate the significant learning of university students. The methodology adopted is the bibliographical and field modality one, likewise, the inquiry takes a quantitative approach and a survey which was applied to 103 students and 15 professors of the first level of the Careers of the Faculty of Jurisprudence and Social Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato. The levels of research used were descriptive and correlational. The main results of the research showed that motivation and family support are important mechanisms which optimize the obtaining of elementary knowledge. Besides, it also showed that the busiest tactic is the elaboration of essays, summaries and synthesis. It is concluded that both topics: family and education present a dynamic relationship, likewise the contexts of the first variable affect the academic performance of the students.
