Abstract:
The improvement initiatives derived from the internal quality control and analysis of the three degree course studied at Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Granada highlight the need to support comprehension of college-level content of basic subjects. Specifically, these include Chemistry, Physics, Statistics and Biometrics. The mentioned situation is justified due to the lower rates of performance detected among new students, some of whom have not been taught these subjects in the previous academic years, prior to beginning their University studies. The Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Granada is developing a tutorial plan (Tutorgrados), for new students of the degrees of Pharmacy, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and Food Science and Technology. During the academic courses 2014-15 and 2015-16, we have developed a series of support seminars for these basic subjects. The enrolment in these seminars was voluntary and free of charge.

These support seminars could be carried out in all those undergraduate subjects where high levels of failure are detected.
