Abstract:
Introduction:
Continuous assessment intends to help the teacher to evaluate students continued effort throughout the academic year. Traditionally, business management and law degree assessment was made by a final exam with theory and a practical case related to the subject.

Objectives:
The objectives of this work were; to present the results of a continuous assessment obtained by the students and to compare these grade results with the traditional evaluation system just based on a final exam.

Material and methods:
A student group of 3rd year of the business management and law degree was divided in two. One half was evaluated during the first quarter of the academic year 2014/2015 in the subject “real rights I”, included in civil law with 6 ECTS while the other half, had just a final exam at the end of the quarter.

Results:
The results have shown that continuous assessment got better grades evaluating student effort than a final exam. It was demonstrated that with the continuous assessment the student had better assimilated the concepts of the subject and had greater legal maturity comparing the situation with just a final exam.

Conclusion:
The application of continuous assessment has revealed advantages and disadvantages. The most favorable aspect was the increase of the academic effort of the students, allowing a better distribution of time and getting better results, however, as an disadvantage there are some weaknesses to improve since a quarter is very short time to see these differences.
