Abstract:
The undergraduate students of civil engineers receive two courses about constructive processes. They are always oriented to reinforced concrete structures, for this reason when the Civil engineer apprentice have to build a steel structure, always he has many problems, because he needs more instruction about this typology.

In this context, the authors, proposed an investigation for determinate an instructional design for mlearning, that, permits lifelong learning for civil engineers about steel structures constructive processes.

Applying some aspects of Mayer’s Multimedial theory and the autorregulated learning theory proposed for Paul Pintrich, some virtual learning object (VLO’s) were designed for the plataform android.

These VLO’s were tested in an experimental program with civil engineers between 20 and 70 years old.

At the same time the VLO’s were evaluated three experts, one technological, one pedagogical and structural.

The study permits propose a methodology for the instructional design of materials in mlearning oriented a civil engineers and your lifelong learning.
This research met identification with conclusions of (Chen & Hsieh, 2008), (Baddeley & Lewis, Attention and retrieval from long term memory, 1984) and (O’Malley e.t), if the material attracted the participant’s attention the instructional design is effective. This investigation concludes that independent the number of stimulus, the student can learn the same if your attention is attracted.

The study does not find relation between learning style of participant and the material type. The exposed for (Li & Parsons, 2009), was not proved.
