Abstract:
BIM (Building Information Modeling) is an intelligent 3D model-based process that gives architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals the insight and tools to more efficiently plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure. The demanding and complexity of current construction projects requires advanced solutions. The BIM building information model will make it easier for developers. It is an instrument with which it is possible to execute construction projects more accurately, faster, more economically and on time. The awareness and interest in BIM is increasing from year to year. The basic prerequisite for its implementation at school is that students will be more informed and better coordinated when working with software and tools. The paper is aimed at clarifying the awareness of the BIM in the preparation of civil engineers at the Bachelor's degree program and the program in engineering studies. The result of the survey is a detailed analysis, which shows that the awareness is around 50%, which confirms the need to change the way pedagogy works, to update study materials, to add appropriate didactic aids, and to innovate strategies and learning styles.
