Abstract:
The successful integration of graduates in the labor market is a priority for every university. Quality and structure of the educational systems has a major impact on human resource qualification. The results of many analyses prove that the education system is not currently configured to provide the students with sufficient opportunity to gain the necessary skills and knowledge for their future jobs. Therefore, it is desirable to introduce into the educational process appropriate innovative approaches, which would help to meet effectively the objectives oriented toward needs of future prospective employers. The results of the National project “The Universities as Engines of Knowledge Society Development” include the recommendations for the innovations of educational forms and for development of key competencies of graduates. The project is based on the analysis of demands of employers’ representatives and teachers on the profile and key competences of Bachelor and Master Study graduates. An implementation of BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a good step in the process of increasing the ability to integrate vocational theoretical and methodological knowledge in work, because BIM gets people and information working together effectively and efficiently through defined processes and technology. The aim of this article is to present the implementation of innovative form to education through BIM technologies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering – Technical University in Kosice.
