Abstract:
A significant problem that worries a university student is his success after graduation. In this regard, students implement various options for building a successful career. However, they do not always have objective information about employers' expectations, and their experience does not always contribute to their future success.

The purpose of the research is to study strategies for building a successful career by university students. The main research questions:
1) consider strategies for building a career by students;
2) identify successful strategies from university teachers and students and their employers.

Methods - expert interviews with university teachers (n = 12), employers conducted in 2020-2021, interviews with university students and post gradueted students (n = 7).

Results:
1. Strategies for building a career are built by students depending on their development of personal potential, activity, and autonomy in implementing educational activities. The study found types of strategies that lead students to both success and failure.
2. The most successful strategies are associated with independence from the direct influence of the educational community. Students achieve success through their practices related to self-education, independent search for additional education, internships, and a potential job.
