Abstract:
The article concentrates on the problems of raising the quality of education, with particular emphasis on improving the learning and teaching process in higher education. The conducted research is based on the results of survey forms carried out in the past few years among students, doctoral students and post-graduate students and graduates of the Faculty of Architecture, Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. Surveys are to assess the fulfillment of teaching duties for teachers conducting didactic classes and to review the adaptation of the field of study and education programs to the needs of a changing dynamic labor market. The survey forms are part of the Education Quality Assurance System (SZJK) functioning at the Silesian University of Technology, which is an internal system of quality-oriented education process.
The article objective is to show how the process of the survey forms can initiate changes in the educational programs and methods of teaching students of the Faculty of Architecture. On the one hand, the article attempts to answer questions on how surveys can influence the process of learning and teaching academic community, and they can trigger the creativity of teachers. On the other hand, the article attempts to prove if survey forms are needed for students and if meet their needs and expectations in terms of the level of competence and sustainable development of the teaching staff. An additional aim of this article is to show the effectiveness of the analysis of the results of survey forms, their reliability and the role of its findings in improving the quality of training of future architects.Keywords:
