Abstract:
The article concentrates on the problems of raising the quality of education, with particular emphasis on the design and improvement of education programs in higher education institutions. The present study is based on improvement actions undertaken in the past few years at the Faculty of Architecture, Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.

The article objective is to show the role of improvement activities in the process of designing educational programs at the Faculty of Architecture. At the same time the aim of the article is to show the effectiveness of the measures taken and their importance in improving the quality of training of future architects.

The basis for improvement activities at the Faculty of Architecture were among others: analysis of the conclusions of the Cards to improve subjects; verification of the conformity expectations of internal and external stakeholders with the educational program; analysis of information coming from the monitoring careers of graduates professional career; analysis of information coming from the students environment and the surveying process; an assessment conducted by the graduation exams. The conducted analysis and the lessons learned resulted in gradual changes in education programs at all levels and forms of higher education. Work on the improvement of education programs aimed at continuous improvement of the quality of education and the attractiveness of study, expanding the educational offer faculty and adjustment programs to the expectations of professional backgrounds and environments of young graduates of the Faculty of Architecture.
