Abstract:
Τhe transition from education to the labor market is a particularly critical phase for young people for their social and professional integration, which, if it is smooth, can contribute both to ensuring the individual's internal balance but also to the fulfillment of the individual's and social well-being. In addition, the issue of employability and the development of skills and competences to Tertiary Education graduates is nowadays a key point for the new entrant employees to the labor market both in Greece and internationally. Work-integrated learning programs constitute a policy for Higher Education Institutions to link education to the labor market. This article will present the results of an evaluative case study, which concerns the evaluation of the compulsory internship program at a Higher Education Institution in Greece, in the field of Adult Education. The aim is to understand and describe the "phenomenon" on the part of those involved in it, namely Students, Organizers and Mentors. Qualitative Content Analysis has been implemented for the analysis of research material; within the present article the short and long term benefits of work-integrated learning program for Students, Co-operating Organizations and Mentors are going to be presented.
