Abstract:

This paper introduces an analytical dashboard for the analysis on students’ academic performance. The aim is to analyse the students’ academic performance in each module, giving the opportunity to the interesting parties (mainly to the lecturers) to compare the fluctuation over the academic years. Particularly, the proposed analytical dashboard:
a) demonstrates of the students' academic performance analysing the assessments’ marks and using statistical measures such as average, median, maximum, minimum;
b) provides summaries of the results to dashboard interface based on different assessments like coursework, lab, exam;
c) carry out comparison filtering the data among the different criteria like streams, modules, year.

The proposed analytical dashboard has been tested using module results from two mega-modules, and certain improvement areas have been identified. Future work will be devoted to broadening the dimensions of data analysis and to updating the results into the lecturer’s screen in real time.
