Abstract:
The adaptation of European Universities to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) entails not only the modification of curricular programmes and the nomenclature and duration of degrees, but also the incorporation of new teaching strategies aimed at ensuring that students acquire transversal skills and aptitudes and at increasing student participation in the teaching-learning process. Competencies represent the combination of attributes, as for the knowledge and his applications, aptitudes, skills and responsibilities, which describe the level or degree of sufficiency with which an individual is capable of carrying out them, already be professional or academic. In this investigation one tries to gather the vision of the students of Agricultural and Forest Engineering about specific competencies. A questionnaire on expectations was administered to would-be in Agricultural Engineering of Higher Technical School University of Huelva (Spain) and Forest Engineering Students of Politecnic school of Mieres, University of Oviedo (Spain). We used basic descriptive analysis. The results show that Agricultural Engineering students have positively evaluated the understand of differents codes and audiovisual and information and communication technologies, explain ideas clearly and work with initiative. Forest Engineering Students have positively evaluated make decisions and manage the forest landscape and interact with multidisciplinary groups to provide solutions to environmental. The analysis offers a perspective to go deeply into the opinions of the students and to gather his valuations for the improvement of the process competencial.
