Abstract:
As digital mobile technologies become part of the people’s daily life, people can take advantage of the learning opportunities it provided. With how the people live, work and learn today,
learning could still be achieved, especially with the introduction of new strategies for learning. As the environment continues to change and more processes and routines become automated, people need to acquire more skills and knowledge to catch up with all of the technological advancements happening. To the people who are always on the move, making time for learning is an additional challenge.

As learners needed to perform learning activities when they’re ready and mostly less distracted, the use of the mobile devices has provided support to anytime-anywhere access of learning content and resources. With the delivery of bite-sized content on short bursts, or micro-learning, learners can focus on what really matters and what is really needed, and access only the most relevant information in just a matter of seconds up to few minutes.

This paper presents how course content for micro-learning on mobile devices, in the form of micro-courses, are designed and developed using Micro-learning Course Authoring System or MicroCAS. Guided by the micro principle applied in the entirety and individual components of the learning modules, the learning content produced by the content creators (e.g., teachers) using the authoring tool of the platform will be delivered wirelessly to the mobile devices of the learners and access them through the mobile application.
