Abstract:
With the academic mobility of the students on the rise, but also with the increased dynamics of opening up the labor market, intercultural communication competence becomes an indispensable skill as well as an asset in the global world. The general objective of the course content for the Romanian language as a foreign language discipline is to help foreign students to bring their Romanian language closer and thus to successfully complete their Erasmus studies. Another objective of the discipline is to facilitate the integration of students in the Romanian socio-cultural environment, the teacher influencing to a certain extent the psychological, linguistic, social and cultural adaptation of the foreign students to the Romanian environment. Romanian language is - for some of the foreign students with whom we have worked with - structurally different from their native languages (Turkish, Hebrew etc.). The structures of the Romanian language seem difficult to them and often they cannot identify an apparent logic, which is why they find it difficult to adapt to them. The curriculum of this discipline includes fundamental notions of grammar, the basic lexicon and structures specific to the living language for interaction in specific situations. Attractive applications have been used constantly, audio and visual materials that permanently expose the student to contact with elements of Romanian culture and civilization. In order to form the intercultural communicative competence, authentic documents with cultural significance have been introduced as didactic resources (in written or audio-visual format).
