Abstract:
The family is the first social institute that is responsible for the holistic upbringing of a child. Parents are the first teachers, authorities of the child. In the family, the formation of the child's personality begins - a fundamental value system, trust is formed, a sense of security is ensured, and a character is shaped. The first explorations of the child's visual world begin with observing the immediate, everyday home environment. Child development is rooted in a multi-layered cultural environment – family culture, customs and traditions (Hakkarainen, Brėdikytė et al., 2015). The experiences formed in childhood in the family determine the further prospects for successful education.

The purpose of the publication is to analyze the scientific literature, other informational sources that emphasize the role of family in the early education of a child. A questionnaire survey of parents / guardians was conducted, which aims to find out the aspects and trends of early childhood education in the family.
