Abstract:
After being educated on classical sculpture, senior student is supposed to create orginal and personal artworks. At the end of the third year, the sculpture student who developes and improves his point of view and observation skills with the help of his experiences, starts to form his own style and original artworks. The student becomes ready to present the newest in terms of technique and the idea, as a requirement of contemporary art, against classical age. The educater would be the map of the student who is trying to make his own way. At this point, in the name of standing on his feet and creating the newest, sculpture student that searches and understands today’s sculpture mentality, tries to find his own style.

Educator has to push the student to investigate and to discover new techniques and make the student to derive different techniques and the expression. On to the concept and subject chosen by the student, educator is supposed to open the student’s mind and offer new ideas and options to choose the best way to present his design, then direct him to think and find his solution. After having enough assessories about the subject, the student must also be supported in terms of technical knowledge. To find new techniques and expressions, the student must be directed.

By choosing a concept for execution, educator must help to find the best way with considering different disciplines related with the subject and provide that the student will be able to deal with the concept in every direction. With searching his subject visually and literarily including all disciplines and with assimilating his subject, to find the right expression, the appropriate technique and material must be shown. The student must also be motivated to develop practical solutions about the material either ordinary ones like marble, metal, bronze… or extraordinary ones. (finding different material options.) At the steps like choosing and applying the right technique, classical styles or new techniques the possibility of the applicability must be examined and also must be inspirational.

In terms of opening student’s mind about techniques and materials, what is predictable from student is; to choose a concept or a subject and to represent it with an extraordinary technique or a material (not like classic materials and techniques as marble, metal, wood, etc.) which supports the expression best. The purpose is to lead the student to research different techniques and material options and to head towards to the new alternatives. This would encourage him to explore the new discoveries and to develop his professional carreer.
