Abstract:
This study investigated teachers’ perceived influence of computer assisted instruction (CAI) on learning outcomes of pupils with mild intellectual disability (MID) in Ibadan, Nigeria. The instructional process of pupils with MID can be frustrating to both pupils and teacher. These teachers are also largely responsible for the incorporation of CAI in the teaching-learning process of these pupils. Incorporating CAI could however have an influence on the learning outcomes of these pupils, hence, this research. Three research questions were generated and answered. The result of this findings revealed that CAI is perceived by teachers to have a positive influence on the attitude to learning, academic achievement as well as school attendance and class participation of pupils with MID. It is therefore recommended that CAI be incorporated into the instructional process of pupils with MID to enhance their learning outcomes.
